sooner7nc,
What stories have you to tell about carpet cleaners?
- I can't wait to hear these!
Bill.
question:.
why do i see so frequently the witnesses referred to as "window washers" on here?
i have been a witness (though only recently "conscious") for my whole life.

so says jordan maxwell and he backs up the statement with years of research and knowledge.. at 1:25:00 he speaks about the eerie death of chas.
taze russell.
he died at the stroke of midnight on halloween, a high occult occasion.
It is rather hard to believe that C.T. Russell was financed by MI5 and MI6:
- The organisation that later became MI5 and MI6 was not founded until 1909.
- Yet the Watchtower Society was incorporated in 1884 (having been founded three years earlier).
By 1909, Russell was nearing the end of his tenure - what sustained him up until then?

If I may break the train (which seems to be either throwing brickbats at Farkel, or else throwing brickbats back at those who do!) and return to the title of this thread:
- cleaning used to be seen as the single best source of part time work, and possibly still is.
Only because of this, many in the pioneer service turned to cleaning work in order to support themselves. It certainly did not mean that the same individuals were incapable of anything else (although I certainly agree that it does not prepare a person for much else - certainly not for handling the responsibilities of an elder!)
It should therefore hardly be a surprize that a disproportionate number of JWs are cleaners by occupation.
And not only window cleaners, either. Around here, many are into carpet cleaning as well - some even owning franchises for one or other of the big carpet cleaning concerns.
As well as cleaning, though, the local JWs seem to also be heavily represented in pest control work - and at all levels up to senior management.

japan had incredible increases in the 80's and 90's of 20-30 thousand publishers a year until it collapsed in 1998....figure since then till 2011 have been going down.. 1998 -222,912 publishers -3,802 congregation.
9 years later.. 2006 -217,519 publishers -3,164 congregations {loss of 5,357 publishers closed 638 congregations} .
{note that japan publishers average 31 hours a month compared to world 15 hours}.
Designs,
Good point - even the "industrious", "dedicated" or whatever JWs in Japan (in the 1980s, the WTS seemed to run out of pleasant adjectives with which to describe them!) could not keep up the pretense forever.
Bill.
this article must have been written by bethels most advanced scientific mind......this is why we need a college education.. .
watchtower 1973 july 15 p.7 "question from readers.
when did the dinosuars become extinct?
I have got my Bachelor of Stupidity displayed on the wall, above where I am currently sitting:
- courtesy of reading such scientific journals as Watchtower and Awake for 28 years!
Bill.
PS: That would have been / should have been a Bachelor of Engineering, but for The Cult's interference when I was seventeen.
somebody know the theme of this years district convention or is still top secret?.
Room 215,
I agree with you all the way - who gives a ####!
Bill.
witnesses love to say they are in the best school available---the theocratic ministry school.
witnesses don't want you to express research on a subject when giving a comment during a meeting.
just read verbatim what is in the paragraph.
The Watchtower is a scientific publication, and reading it - together with all the other WTS literature - will give a person the equivalent of a university degree:
- Well, the equivalent of one certain university degree, anyway.
i.e. A Bachelor of Stupidity, from the University of Bulolo (Frog Hollow Campus).
This I have been assured by the university's chancellor, the Reverend Harley Davidson!
Bill.
i'm impressed with sophisticated thinking on this site.
after all it is an ex-witness site.
i wonder what changed in the former witnesses.
Reopened Mind,
Your getting involved with this cult quite closely parallels mine;
- a teenager in the late 1960s / early 1970s, impressed with how "Bible Prophecy" appeared to be acting out in "World Conditions" etc. etc. etc.!
However, the penny started to drop when all this did not continue on as it was supposed to;
- then the penny definitely hit the deck with a crash once I learned that this outfit had done the same things over and over in the past; and with similar results! (i.e. they were False Prophets, pure and simple!).
From that point onwards, I just could no longer keep up the pretence - after finding myself in the position of having to try and defend that which was indefensible.
Bill.
is the wts a false prophet organization?
are it's leaders false prophets?
or have they simply been guilty of poor interpretation from time to time?.
They are both!
Bill
a couple years ago district convention - a pioneer family with two kids explained how they had ran out of funds and had no dinner...as they turned the corner out witnessing they saw a vegetable truck had spilled some produce in the gutter and so "jehovah provided in our time of need..." i felt like yelling get a job you bum stop starving!!
not encouraging.
this week an elder with pnemonia discharges himself from hospital, promising to remain home...so he can go out preaching!
Notice that oftentimes, these "we did not know where the next meal was coming from" - and by extension "aren't we superior" types are in fact the next ones to give the whole JW thing away:
(i.e. in JW-speak, go "out of the truth.")
Sooner rather than later, they discover that they cannot continue forever to keep up the pretence!
Bill.
